Biotech-enhanced percentages for the U.S. and Argentina based on briefs from the International Service for the Acquisition of Agri-biotech Applications (ISAAA). U.S. percentage verified by USDA/NASS Agricultural Statistics Board June 2003 biotech planted acres report.

In September 2003, the government of Brazil officially approved the planting of biotech-enhanced, herbicide-tolerant soybeans. Brazil crop data based on estimates by the Brazilian Association of Seed Producers (Abrasem) and other non-governmental sources.

These three countries (the United States, Argentina and Brazil combined) produce more than 93 percent of the world's soybean exports.
